As I walked through the store the other day I thought about how beautiful all the quilts hanging from the walls make the shop. And then I wondered if our customers knew they are available as kits. Probably not! But it’s true…we do all the work for you. We design a wonderful quilt and pull all the fabrics together for you into one kit. So I snapped some photos to share with links to where you can order them online. You’re also welcome to call the store (801-576-0390) or stop by and pick up your favorite kit today!
Row by Row is On the Go in 2017!
The shops are planning the new rows, the new lists and maps are being designed, everyone is getting ready to take off on June 21 for Row by Row Experience 2017. Be sure to follow the Facebook page for your area to keep up to date as we go through spring. Simply search in Facebook for Row by Row Experience and the name of your state or province. You will find us there!
Make our world a better place with The 9th Row.
Many of the quilt shops are participating in The 9th Row project. In making a donation to The Make a Wish Foundation, the shops received an exclusive pattern. Consider the purchase of The 9th Row kit and a portion of your sale will help out the local children’s charity. Ask for it in your store!
The game is the same… and keeps getting better!
Beginning June 21, 2017, visit any of the participating shops and receive a free pattern for a row in a quilt. Combine your rows in any way to create a unique quilt that represents the fun you had traveling to the stores. Travel with friends, discover new quilt shops and have fun collecting rows!
Win a prize!
Create a quilt using at least 8 different 2017 rows from 8 different 2017 participating RxR shops and be the first to bring it into a participating shop to win a stack of 25 fat quarters (6-1/4 yards of fabric!). Use that shop’s row in your quilt and win a bonus prize! Click here for more details. Note: you may use The 9th Row patterns, row from previous years and even Row by Row Junior patterns in your quilt, but none of these may be counted as any of the eight needed to win a prize.
Need a Place to Stay!
Go and collect your Row by Row patterns and/or kits from participating stores and then return to The Quilter’s Lodge to sew all night long!! Learn more about HERE.
Row by Row On the Go! is 2017’s theme and we’ll be participating here at The Quilter’s Lodge. We’re super excited about Row by Row Experience’s brand new program, Row by Row Junior, too! It’s designed for kids ages 6 to 14. They travel along with an adult. They collect free row patterns designed just for them to make and they can learn to sew at home with family help and support from www.rowbyrowexperience.com.
Row by Row Junior follows the same rules and time schedule as adult Row by Row Experience, June 21 through Labor Day. Kids need to be in the shop to get the free pattern handout, but anyone can buy a kit. Grandmothers and traveling family can bring them home as gifts or souvenirs.
Row by Row Junior designed the five different row patterns so you can be sure they are kid-friendly. Make it an adventure traveling to collect all five and seeing how different shops make up their row. The horizontal row was designed by us at The Quilter’s Lodge and the two horizontal were designed by Row by Row. Bonus…we have kits for all three!!
We’ll be awarding “I Made This!” ribbons to the first five kids who return with something made using a Row by Row Junior pattern. Any sewing effort will be celebrated, not just quilting. Find Row by Row Junior’s free online activities, kids’ journal pages, support for learning to sew at home, and more at HERE this summer.
“We want our kids to learn how to sew and carry on this craft that’s so dear to us,” explains Janet Lutz, Row by Row’s founder. “Traveling to new places, collecting something just for them, visiting Grandma, summer vacation…this is all part of the wonder and excitement of Row by Row Experience. Please join us.”
We put together this gallery of some shop photos for you. Just in case you were too busy shopping and didn’t remember to snap a photo or two of our cute “Antique Store” displays filled with adorable fabrics.

I learned to sew from my grandmother, mainly because my mother did not have the patience to do so. Although I enjoyed the time I spent with her we started on a blouse. Looking back I wish I had started on a quilt so my confidence in my sewing ability increased with the process. Can you imagine the quilts I could have crafted had I learned to quilt at that age. And trust me, I do not make blouses for myself.
