How to Plan a Private Retreat at The Quilter’s Lodge

We absolutely love working with private groups to make their retreats the perfect experience. We have worked with small and large groups; local and out of town groups; from Quilting to family gatherings. But many of you have asked us how to go about putting together a “private retreat” for you and your friends. So we are going to share some tips with you.

First, make a list of friends and family to invite. Contact them and let them know you are working on putting together a private retreat and ask them if they want  a private room or a shared room?

The Quilter’s Lodge can sleep up to 26 people and has 10 bedrooms, two of which are ADA accessible.  We have 2 bedrooms with 1 king bed, 2 bedrooms with 1 queen bed, 4 bedrooms with 3 twins, 2 bedrooms with 1 queen & 1 twin.  Private retreats are booked by the bedroom not the bed space.

Second, pick a date.

We are pleased to accommodate private groups with for a minimum of two nights.  Check in is at 3 PM and check out is at noon. To secure the dates, $150/ bedroom deposit is required. You can collect the funds and pay for all at once, or send your group to our accommodations page and have them book their room HERE.

Third, decide on FOOD!

Private retreats have full access to our full kitchen.  Eat in or Dine out! Many of our groups have assigned out each meal to those attending, so no one person has the burden of planning, cooking and cleaning up the meals.

Fourth, plan out your Meeting Space.

The Quilter’s Lodge will provide sewing and cutting stations for sewing groups.  And no need to travel with an iron, ironing board OR your cutting mats, we will provide that as well. We also have sewing machines for rent if needed. For groups with a minimum of 15 people attending, you will get to use our large workroom. This space has plenty of room to spread out and large wall design boards to layout your quilts before sewing.

Fifth, determine your projects to work on.

Many of our groups simply have their friends bring their own projects. Lucky for you, there is an onsite fabric, notions & pattern shop that you will have access to for purchasing needed supplies or starting a NEW project! Other groups will have a couple of people plan out specific craft and/or quilt projects for everyone. If you want a member of our educator team to teach a mini class on a certain technique or project, we can!  The Quilt Shop has millions of inspirational ideas to assist you in your next “must do”. It’s your retreat, be as creative as you’d like!

Bonus, we offer a pricing break if you book 3 or more bedrooms.

My First Experience Staying at The Quilter’s Lodge

I wanted to let you all know how great I thought your Lodging Facilities were last week during my stay for the Laura Heine Collage Workshop.  First of all the staff for the Lodge was awesome, I was not left wanting a single thing.  To me your facility was more like a Bed and Breakfast than any Retreat Center I have ever been to.  I could have easily brought along my husband and he would have also been very comfortable.  It was great having extra time at the end of class to continue working on my projects and not feel like I had to get back home right away.  Even some of the local ladies decided to stay the night at the last minute!  The Lodge is located in a quiet area yet within 5 minutes to any other kind of shopping I may have wanted to do.  I will definitely be back and hopefully next time with friends or family!
